Testimonial MPharm Appeal upheld - October 2022

Second year Masters of Pharmacy programme (‘MPharm’) student excluded from course due to failure of resit - first appeal was unsuccessful - RT Coopers advised on evidence that needed to be adduced - held audio to elicit background to the case and to particularise the grounds of appeal - drafted appeal on grounds of mitigating circumstances - appeal upheld.

Second time around, the MPharm student was repeating the year as previous appeal was upheld after exclusion from the course. The student passed all exams and coursework including end of year written exams and end of year coursework and failed the viva for the Personal Professional Development (‘PPD’) Portfolio and the counselling component of the Fundamentals of Practice.  As the student failed the two components of the PPD Porfolio, the student was asked to repeat the year. There were Exceptional Circumstances which could not have been made known to the Board of Examiners.  RT Coopers drafted the second appeal on grounds of Exceptional Circumstances.  The appeal was upheld. Student returned to University in September 2022 having progressed to year 3, without having to repeat year 2. First published in Google My Business Reviews

'Dr Cooper gave incredible advice on my appeal and her knowledge and understanding of how the system works is top notch. My appeal was upheld which I am deeply grateful for. Thank you so much Rosanna. Would 1000% recommend. This is an edit as this is the second time I have used Rosanna's service, she was just as professional as the first time around if not more, the appeal seemed like too much of an ask but she managed to pull it off again and I could not be more grateful. Her expertise is unmatched.' Jupe

The best decision we ever made... If you are looking at this Solicitors because you have failed your medical examinations and been excluded from University you are lucky enough to have found the right place to help you. Sadly this is what happened to my son, and if maybe like ourselves you have read the Uni. appeals process and started filling in the forms, let me stop you there. The truth is the appeals process is not run by your medical school and your Tutors, its run by the University staff and their Solicitors. Things that you believe are valid become irrelevant to them, but things that you believe are inconsequential can win your appeal. I cannot say if you will be successful, but I can tell you that the appeal my son put together and the appeal Rosanna Cooper put together for us after the off chance of contacting them, was like night and day, and after reading Rosanna's appeal it was obvious my son would not of succeeded and be restarting his medical course this September. If you are going up against the Universities Solicitors you need a Solicitor in your corner as they know things about the appeal/procedure you can't begin to think of. You only get 1 chance at the appeal so make sure you throw everything you can at it and RT Coopers is the best weapon you will have’. Stephen Norman

Testimonial - PhD - June 2022

PhD student researching the influence of early life factors on missing data in epidemiology using statistical analyses. Crucial aspects of research were carried out by the student without a supervisor or an expert in statistics, computer science or missing data and imputation. Following the viva, student was asked to make major corrections to be awarded PhD. After making corrections and resubmission, the joint examiners report had extensive corrections that the joint examiners wanted the student to make to be even awarded an MPhil. Seemed like a lost case because of academic judgment.  RT Coopers instructed to draft appeal against the decision to award an MPhil. The case required knowledge of statistics and an understanding of missing data and epidemiology. Working closely with the student, RT Coopers drafted a robust appeal for submission. The appeal was upheld. First published in Google My Business Review (no link)

'I wish to start by saying a big thank you to RT coopers solicitors for their effort and hard work in ensuring that my academic appeal was successful. My case was very complex, meaning that it will be difficult to even get the MPhil which the examiners recommended. I was recommended for an MPhil by the examiners after the second viva, it was devastating, I was physically and psychologically impacted by the outcome of the viva with the belief that I have wasted meaningful years of my life pursuing a project (PhD) that at the end came to nothing. I was highly traumatised, dejected and felt that all I have worked for had been taken away from me. At this point, I decided to take up the option to appeal against the decision of the examiners.

The complex issue was that the examiners’ could not understand what my PhD was all about and the direction I was taking with my PhD studies. They recommended MPhil subject to satisfactory corrections. Looking at the correction list for the MPhil, it was very clear that the examiners did not even want to recommend me for an award of the MPhil. I started searching the internet for academic appeal lawyers. I came across RT coopers and read the reviews and decided to give them a call. I got Rosanna on the phone and in the course of the discussion, she asked me about my PhD. We had a meeting over skype to discuss in detail the PhD and the appeal process. She prepared Grounds of Appeal. The appeal was very detailed, it covered every aspect of my PhD. Irregularities were highlighted which led to the failure of my PhD. The examiners recommended MPhil subject to making recommended corrections to their satisfaction. To put in simple terms, they did not want me to get an MPhil. She was able to establish why their decision not to award me a PhD should not stand. What I have highlighted above is the summary, the appeal document was detailed and persuasive at the end, the appeal was upheld. I commend the effort of and work put in by RT coopers, I will highly recommend their services to any one looking for academic appeal lawyers'.

Final year mathematics student who was accused of academic misconduct by University - RT Coopers drafted Statement for hearing

'RT Cooper is a firm characterized by excellence and care for their clients and I would recommend it to anyone! I cannot convey how grateful I am to Dr. Rosanna Cooper, whose kindness, generosity and professionalism regarding my case allowed me to see my situation through. The time and work that Rosanna invested in my case made me see me that she truly cares about securing the best outcome for me. I am a final year mathematics student who was accused of academic misconduct by my University.

I know that it is Rosanna’s knowledge, her combination of legal and scientific professional insight, that gave my defense statement a chance to be strong. Rosanna drafted an excellent defense statement despite the tight deadline and the complexity of my case, which required unpicking content of university-level mathematics and programming. Rosanna really understood the details surrounding my case and how each of these complexities needed to be addressed. The statement that she completed was thorough on all fronts, and her communication was prompt throughout. Her composure and clear instructions on what exactly needed to be done to maximally strengthen my statement allowed me to focus on specific tasks, instead of panicking. I am very grateful for your help

Rosanna also prepared a strong statement that I could use in my case. Whilst waiting for my appeal date Rosanna was on hand to answer any questions and always replied promptly. Referred in a presentation for a separate module. As there were three consecutive failures of the assignments, the registration for the ODP Programme was terminated. UPDATE 'The appeal was upheld within the shortest possible time. The decision to withdraw my child has been rescinded and I am glad to say he can resume his studies with even more support. Thank you , Rosanna and your team. Would recommend your services any day.

Rosanna from RT Coopers was and is still a Godsent. My child was withdrawn from his course after the first year in university and it broke our hearts. The first call I made to Rosanna proved to me that she was extremely professional. She talked us through every stage of the appeal, suggested that we might find medical experts to diagnose the root cause of my child’s problems. In fact we couldn’t have known many learning difficulties at stake without Rosanna’s help. I can’t think of anyone who could have taken on our case and dealt with it the way she did. She spent hours and hours with us on the phone, Skype and in emails just to give us the best possible outcome. 5 stars is not enough to describe her professionalism, dedication and great sense of humour. My family and I are eternally grateful and consider her as a lifelong friend. Thanks Rosanna! You have no idea how brilliant you are'. Mrs A

Testimonial: Fitness to Practise - Appeal Upheld - February 2022

Final Year Student – False accusations made by University – Referred to Fitness to Practise – Withdrawn from studies as held unfit to practise – RT Coopers instructed after withdrawal and painstakingly worked with student to build a strong appeal – Dr Rosanna Cooper represented student at panel hearing – Appeal upheld. First published in Google my Business Review.

Dr Cooper has been the best!
I was wrongly accused by my university and was referred to a fitness to practice procedure. I was bullied and treated with bias and prejudice because I was already a medical doctor and had an accent. She fought my case and won it! She is very meticulous and hard working and has fought my case as if she was directly the victim of the injustice.
I’m glad I had her on my side, I don’t think I would have won with anyone else. KS
