Year 4 student studying Veterinary Medicine. By the time RT Coopers were instructed, there were false allegations of a sexual nature made by another student ('complainant') which were denied. The investigation did not prove any wrongdoing, yet the student was suspended for over a year and had to adhere to a number of sanctions which the student complied with. RT Coopers were instructed due to fresh allegations (around 150) made by the complainant, which were all unfounded. The student was again suspended from the programme, despite no evidence to prove these allegations. RT Coopers worked tirelessly with the student and in the end all 150 allegations were dismissed. With the assistance of RT Coopers, the student brought allegations against the complainant. The student was able to progress once all of the allegations were dismissed.

ORIGINAL: 'RTC have been brilliant since day 1. Even during the first phone call to them, they understood exactly the situation I was going through, and this was no doubt due to the superior experience this law firm has at dealing with issues in a wide variety of sectors.

The situation I raised with RTC was a long-standing issue, one that had gone on for years prior due to wrongdoing within the procedures, but had now escalated. I felt a sigh of relief from the first few moments of contacting RTC, where I was told exactly how wrong I had been treated, and given immediate advice on our next steps. Third year medical student - Student drinking heavily during night out - No recollection of behaviour on the night - Student accused of breaches of university regulations as a result of the following acts against female students: threatening, intimidating, disorderly conduct, causing nuisance and harassment. Final year (male) medical student on BM5 Medicine programme falsely accused of sexual misconduct against another medical student (female) after a party. The case was not properly investigated by the investigation officer and was referred to a Disciplinary Panel – it took 18 months for the case to be heard by a Disciplinary Panel - during this period RT Coopers worked tirelessly with the student to build a robust defence of the allegations – RT Coopers drafted a detailed statement and advised on every aspect of the case including the evidence that had to be adduced to give the student a chance of becoming a doctor - by the time the Disciplinary Hearing was held the programme had come to an end - despite the lack of evidence furnished by the accuser, a warning was given with thankfully no referral to fitness to practise – the student accepted the outcome and did not appeal in order to move on and start career - there could have been serious ramifications if the case was not handled with the care, sensitivity, dedication and eye for the minutest detail – Now medical doctor. 'I would like to submit this testimonial following the resolution of a serious issue which threatened my completing the final year of my medical degree. I was unjustly accused of racial abuse against a fellow student and the university launched a formal investigation. I was aware that this issue could, if not handled properly, lead to a formal hearing and possible expulsion from my course. I very much needed to present a case which would stop the process at the investigation stage and contacted R T Coopers for help. Rosanna Cooper took on the case herself and made immediate progress by advising me what evidence I needed, how to assimilate it and coached me in how to respond to questions. Rosanna was truly impressive and seemed to have no regard to the hours she put in or the times she could be contacted.
