COMPANIES ACT 2006 IMPORTANT DATES TO NOTE:

28/02/2007

Government announces timetable for implementation of Companies Act 2006

01/10/2007

Part 9 (Exercise of members' rights) will come into force. This includes provisions relating to the rights of indirect investors.

01/10/2007

Part 10 (A company's directors) will come into force. Excludes provisions relating to conflict of interest, residential addresses, underage directors and natural directors.

01/10/2007

Part 11 (Derivative claims and proceedings by members) will come into force.

01/10/2007

Part 13 (Resolutions and meetings) will come into force.

01/10/2007

Sections 485-488 of Part 16 (Audit) will come into force.

01/10/2007

Part 14 (Control of political donations and expenditure) will come into force.

01/10/2007

Section 417 of Part 15 (Contents of directors' report: business review) will come into force.

06/04/2008

The remainder of Part 15 (Accounts and reports) and Part 16 (Audit) will come into force.

01/10/2008

Provisions relating to conflict of interest, residential addresses, underage directors and natural directors in Part 10 (A company's directors) will come into force.
